The five columns of the board
A card sits in one column at a time. Move it when its status changes, and the board always shows where your search stands.
| Column | What it means | Move the card when |
|---|---|---|
| Saved | Roles you want to apply to | You send the application. |
| Applied | Sent, waiting to hear back | Someone writes back to set a call or an interview. |
| Interview | A call or an interview is set | You receive an offer, or a no. |
| Offer | You have an offer to weigh | You accept, decline or negotiate; keep the card until it is settled. |
| Rejected | Closed, no offer | Nothing. Keep it for your records, or delete it. |
On a phone, the board shows one column at a time; pick the column with the buttons above it. Rejected cards are kept under the board in their own list so they stay out of the way.
What is the job application board?
It is a board with five columns: Saved, Applied, Interview, Offer and Rejected. Each job is a card with the company, the title, a date, a link to the post and your notes. You move a card when something changes, so at any moment you can see what is waiting for an answer and what needs a follow-up. The board you see above is the real one: add a card and it works.
Where is my job search data stored?
In your own browser, on this device. The page saves the board in the browser’s local storage and never sends it to a server, because this site has no accounts and no database. That has two consequences. If you clear the site data in your browser, or use another browser or device, the board is not there. And anyone who uses this browser profile can open it. To keep a copy or move to another device, export the board to a file and import it there.
Which tool should I use first?
It depends on where you are. While you are applying, start with the board and the cover letter models. When an interview is set, practice with the questions and the timer. When an offer arrives, convert the hourly rate or the salary into the same unit and compare the two offers side by side. You do not need an account for any of them, and you can use them in any order.
Can this site check my resume against a job post?
Not here. We chose not to rebuild it, because our sister site Resume Studio already has a checker that compares a resume with a job post, and we link to it instead. We make no claim about how any particular employer screens applications. What you can do on this site is keep the applications organized and write the letter that goes with them.
Why does the site not list jobs or use AI?
Listing jobs needs a server and a feed of postings from employers, and this site is built to run entirely in your browser. The cover letters come from four models written for this site, filled with the words you type. No outside service reads your resume, your letter or your notes, which is the reason you can paste real details into the tools.
Which tool for which stage of the search
| Stage | Tool | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Finding and applying | Job application tracker | Keeps every application and its next step in one place. |
| Writing | Cover letter generator | Builds a first draft from four models and your own words. |
| Checking your resume | Resume Studio checker | Compares a resume with a job post. On our sister site. |
| Preparing | Interview questions | 29 questions with an answer plan, the STAR method and a timer. |
| Reading the pay | Hourly to salary calculator | Turns an hourly rate into a year, and a salary into an hourly rate. |
| Choosing | Job offer comparison | Puts two offers side by side, with commute cost. |
Questions about Find Job Opening
Is Find Job Opening free?
Yes. All the tools are free to use and need no account, no e-mail address and no payment.
Do you list job openings?
No. We make tools for the person looking for a job, not a list of jobs. Use the job boards and company pages you already trust, and track what you find on the board.
Can I use the board on my phone and on my laptop?
Yes, but each browser keeps its own board. To carry your board from one device to another, export a file on the first one and import it on the second.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
The board is erased with it, because it lives in the browser’s local storage. Export a file now and then if you want a safe copy.
Does the site send my notes to anyone?
No. The board, the cover letter fields and the calculators run in your browser, and the site makes no network request with what you type. The privacy policy says the same in full.
How can I report a mistake or suggest a tool?
Use the Contact page. Tell us the page and what looked wrong or what you wish the tool did, and we reply to the address you write from.

- Occupational Outlook Handbook
The handbook lists occupations in 25 groups and lets you select them by 2025 median pay, entry-level education, on-the-job training, projected new jobs and projected growth rate. We link to it as a place to look up pay for a job; we copy no figure from it.

Not confirmed: We do not state any average salary, response rate or hiring statistic on this site, because we have not found a source we could open and cite for one. Where a page needs a pay figure it points you to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and asks you to type the number you find.
These tools help you organize a job search. They do not guarantee a job, an interview or an offer, and nothing here is legal, tax or financial advice. Nothing you type is sent from your browser.
