Your letter

Dear Hiring Manager, I am applying for the Customer Support Lead position at Northline Freight. Your team publishes its delivery status openly, and that is the kind of honesty I like to work with. Here is what I would bring to the role: • calm, clear communication with upset customers: brought the average ticket reply time from 9 hours to 4 • training new teammates: onboarded six agents in my last role • finding the cause behind repeat problems: wrote the guide that cut repeat tickets by a third I would welcome a short conversation about how this fits what your team needs. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Jordan Rivera

Read it aloud once and change any sentence that does not sound like you. Gaps in [brackets] still need your words.

The four models and when to use each

The four cover letter models
ModelGood forWords (with the example)
Short and directA short letter for a busy reader: about a minute to read.111
Warm and personalFor a friendly team, or when you know someone there and want it to sound like you.145
Changing fieldsFor moving from one kind of work to another and showing what carries over.152
First job or entry levelFor little paid experience: school, volunteering and projects carry the letter.143

Every model has the same four parts: a greeting, a paragraph that says which job and why, your strengths with proof, and a closing that asks for a conversation. They differ in length and tone, and in how much they say about you versus the work.

The name, company and strengths in the example are made up. Replace them, and keep the proof lines specific: a number, a name or a before-and-after reads better than an adjective.

How do I write a cover letter with this generator?

Choose a model, then fill in your name, the job title and the company, taken from the job post. Write three strengths as short phrases and add one result as proof for each if you have it. Add one sentence on why this company. The letter on the right changes as you type, with [brackets] where something is still missing. Copy it, paste it into your editor and read it aloud once. Change any sentence that does not sound like you.

What goes in a good cover letter?

Three things: why this job and this company, two or three things you can do that match what the post asks for with one fact each as proof, and a closing line that invites a conversation. Anything else is optional. As a rule of thumb, half a page to one page is enough; the reader has the resume for the full story. A letter that names the company and a real detail about the work reads as written for them, which is the point.

Which cover letter model should I pick?

Short and direct suits a busy reader and most corporate jobs. Warm and personal suits a smaller team or a friendly culture. Changing fields helps when you move from one kind of work to another and need to show what carries over. First job or entry level leans on school, projects and volunteering. The models differ in structure and tone, not only in a few words, so try two and keep the one that sounds closer to you.

Is this cover letter written by AI?

No. The four models are fixed texts written for this site, and the page fills the gaps with the words you type. No outside service sees your letter, and the page makes no network request when you type or copy. The result is only as specific as what you give it: a vague strength produces a vague sentence. That is why each strength has a place for a result with a number.

How do I make the letter sound like me?

Replace every phrase you would not say aloud. Prefer plain verbs: “ran”, “fixed”, “taught”. Put a number or a name on at least one claim. Cut the sentence you like least. Then send the letter to a friend and ask which line sounds least like you, and rewrite that one. A short letter in your voice is better than a long one in a borrowed voice.

Questions about cover letter generator

Does the site store my cover letter?

No. The fields exist only on this page while it is open. Nothing is saved to your browser or sent to a server, so a refresh clears them. Copy or download the letter before you leave.

Can I download the letter?

Yes, as a plain text file, or copy it and paste it into a word processor to format it and save it as PDF.

Should I send the same letter to every company?

No. Change at least the company, the title and the reason, and pick the strengths the post asks for. A letter that could be sent to anyone reads that way.

What if I do not know the name of the hiring manager?

Leave the field empty and the letter opens with “Dear Hiring Manager,”. If the post or the company page names the person, use it.

How long should a cover letter be?

A rule of thumb is half a page to one page, about 150 to 350 words. Check the post: if it asks for a different length or format, follow it.

Do I need a cover letter at all?

If the post asks for one, send one. If it does not say, a short, specific letter does no harm, but we make no promise that it changes the result.
